Beaches, mountains, promenades, coastal and rural paths will follow one another in a simple but varied route. This is a fun excursion, highly recommended for the whole family, which will show us the beauty of the municipality. We will visit: Sa Pedruscada, Es Carregador, the beautiful beach of Font de Sa Cala, and we will even access the remains of the prehistoric settlement “Es Claper des Gegants”. The route also skirts the village of Capdepera and ends back at Cala Rajada. Attention! The section of the promenade is usually quite busy with walkers, so at some point it is advisable to walk along it on foot with your bicycle.
From the beach of Cala Agulla we will ascend along the path of “Es Coll de Marina”; on the way down we will see Cala Mesquida, a beach that we will cross over a long footbridge, until we enter another stretch of mountain where there are alternating ascents and descents. We then reach Son Barbassa, and then the Camí Reial, a path that connects the old “possessions” (rural Mallorcan habitats) of Capdepera and Artá. We will continue along secondary paths that will take us into the rural environment. Near the end of the route, the entrance to a golf course will lead us to “Es Claper des Gegants”, a prehistoric Talayotic settlement. A path will take us to Font de sa Cala, a tourist enclave with a beautiful cove. The route back to Cala Rajada runs along the sea.
We propose a long route with little technical difficulty, whose final goal will be the defence tower “Es Castell”, in the natural area of sa Punta de n’Amer, located between the tourist areas of Cala Millor and sa Coma. From Cala Rajada, and after an obligatory stop at the Castle of Capdepera (an impressive medieval fortification), by road and secondary roads we will reach the village of Son Servera, with a recommended stop at its New Church (an emblematic temple open to the sky). We will go up to Puig de sa Bassa, where we will enjoy beautiful views of the bay. A descent of path and road will take us to the vicinity of Sa Coma, and a stretch of wide, flat road to Punta de n’Amer. A nice coastal tour along the promenades of Cala Millor, Sa Coma and Port Vell will be part of the way back.
The old railway line that linked the inland villages in the eastern part of Mallorca offers this long and peaceful linear route, made of gravel and compact earth. It is an easy and safe path, fenced and delimited by trees, which connects Artá, Son Servera, Son Carrió, Sant Llorenç and Manacor. The route alternates between traditional agricultural fields and Mediterranean forest, and passes through tunnels and stations. There are seven rest areas with benches and tables. From Cala Rajada you can get there via the secondary paths of Son Jaumell and the Na Maians area, while from Canyamel you can get there by following the start of route 7, which connects with the Greenway. It is a comfortable and scenic route, one of those that create a passion. You set the limit for yourself, but think about the return journey and remember to keep your strength in check.
An inland route that will make you forget that you are on an island until you reach the summit of Puig de Son Corp, which offers spectacular views over the bay.
Through rural paths and sections of the Greenway, we will link the municipalities of the easternmost part of Mallorca: Capdepera, Artá and Son Servera. A narrow, steep uphill path leads us to Puig de Son Corp. This is followed by the most technical and enjoyable descent of the route. It is a fairly steep descent that presents a certain level of difficulty, so you will have to be very careful, especially in the narrower sections.
A fantastic short route that, between descents and trials, allows you to discover the most natural and scenic aspect of Cala Rajada: its most spectacular beaches, secluded coves and the extensive pine forests that surround them. At the start of the route, we will climb part of the mountain of “Es Telégrafo” and continue along the pine and palm tree path “Es Coll de Marina”, until we reach the large sandy area of Cala Mesquida beach. On the way down, we will enter a stretch of a torrent, which we will follow to ascend and skirt the peak of “Es Puig de s’Àguila”. Along the route you will come across the traditional lime kilns (“Forns de Calç”) of the Mallorcan forests.
Combining trails with roads and sporting enjoyment with naturalistic interest is possible thanks to this route that starts at Canyamel beach. The route will take us to Artà, passing by the defensive tower of Canyamel (13th century), the sculpture of Sarasate, “Els guardians de Canyamel” and the Greenway. Ascents on asphalt will lead us to the mountain of sa Duaia, to continue with entertaining descents on dirt tracks (without losing sight of the undergrowth, full of strawberry trees), to the path “Bosque de Red Eléctrica”. Paths between pine trees, with narrow stretches of loose stones, will test our dexterity and will delight MTB lovers. After enjoying the excellent panoramic views, we will resume the descent.
An entertaining route that alternates countryside, mountain and beach, whose main difficulty will be its distance and some rocky terrain. Along the beautiful Ses Pites path, we will enjoy a long stretch by the sea. From the beach of Font de Sa Cala we will go to Canyamel, where we will cross the beach by the bridge that rises over the stream; a marsh that serves as a natural habitat for a large number of birds throughout the year. We continue along the road until we reach the Vía Verde (Greenway) and head towards Coll d’Artà. On dirt and mountain roads we pass through the Serral d’en Rulo and Bellpuig. A descent on asphalt will lead us to Artà, where we will follow another stretch of the Greenway to finally reach Cala Rajada.
Na Llòbrega is the solitary and unspoilt cove that gives its name to this natural park bike, which can be reached from the beach of Cala Agulla, continuing towards Cala Moltó – a small nudist cove with crystalline waters – along a path that opens up to the right of the ascent of the “Coll de Marina”. On the way back we will start an ascent through a section of the mountain of “Es Telégrafo”, with a certain slope, where we will find some old “forn de calç” (lime kiln) among pines and “garballó” (fan palm) trees. On descents, trial roads and mountain paths, we will discover an area of great beauty, where we will find a “marés quarry”, a material that was very much used in the past on the island.
An epic route that every biker dreams of. Winding through forests, we will make continuous incursions to beaches and hidden coves with crystal clear waters, crossing paths surrounded by pine trees, palmettos and yellow broom. In spring the route provides an incredible sensory experience. The most impressive section is the “Camí des Racó”, which links up with the Cala Mitjana path and leads us to a farmhouse set in a 15th century estate, on the top of the mountain and with views of the Llevant Natural Park. Some barriers give way to the asphalt road that will lead us to Artá. We will follow a small section of the “Via Verde”, to turn off towards the road to Canyamel and the golf course, which we will skirt to reach Cala Provençals and Font de Sa Cala, in the direction of Cala Rajada.
A route of great beauty and some difficulty, alternating descents, trials and steep climbs, crossing large sandy areas and entering the Llevant Peninsula Natural Park. From the forest of Cala Agulla we will reach the beach of Cala Mesquida, which has an amazing dune system, the largest in the Balearic Islands. We will continue towards Cala Torta, where an asphalt ascent will lead us to the mythical “Restaurant”. After a downhill stretch, we will ascend along the Cala Mitjana path. The barriers will open the way to the descent of the “Camí del Racó”, until we reach Artà. We will follow roads, a magical path lined with holm oaks and estates with thousand-year-old olive trees, until we reach the Greenway. After skirting a golf course, the rural roads will take us to Cala Rajada, Canyamel, Font de sa Cala or Cala Mesquida.
A spectacular route that starts in the forest of Cala Agulla, where you’ll find a medieval castle, a spectacular medieval castle, and lots of fun trails with narrow ascents and descents. We will pass Cala Moltó, where we will ascend along the edge of Puig de s’Àguila. On a descent we reach Cala Mesquida and follow the path that leads to Cala Torta. From there, a detour marked with the sign “Camí des Racó” will lead us to a path with impressive surroundings. At the end of the path, we enter a trial climb to the summit, which offers clear views from Ses Costellades. A narrow and fun descent links secondary paths to the Camí de Son Terrassa, and at the end of this we will climb up to the castle of Capdepera, where we will enjoy a magnificent panoramic view.
The fishing port of Cala Rajada is the starting point for this route, which, after crossing the picturesque beach of Cala Gat, climbs up the rocky coastline to reach the lighthouse, from where you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views that on clear days reach as far as the island of Menorca. After passing the Esbucada tower (13th century), we start a fairly difficult trial descent to L’Olla, where we will find a small natural pool of very salty water. We will go down to Cala Lliteres, and border the promenade and the beach of Cala Agulla to Cala Moltó, from where a route goes up to Cala Mesquida, with fun trails that will make us meander through the forest and along the slope of the peak “Es Puig de s’Àguila”. A real delight for any biker.
The itinerary will allow us to reach a location with privileged views over this side of the Llevant region, combining two very marked levels of difficulty. From the start in the forest of Cala Agulla, we will climb to the top of the “Puig de s’Àguila”, and then go up to the “Puig de sa Cova Negra”, a steep stretch of asphalt up to the top, which houses a huge radar antenna. On the descent we will enjoy an unbeatable panoramic view, until we enter a very steep downhill stretch (very complicated) where, if in any doubt, the best thing to do is to get off the bike. Afterwards, this section returns to normal until we reach the Pedruscada. Following the Ses Pites path by the sea, we return to Cala Rajada.
Can you imagine cycling among the last unspoilt beaches of Mallorca? This route that runs through the Llevant Peninsula Natural Park starts in Cala Rajada and starts climbing along the peaks of Son Barbassa and La Senyora. A path marked by trial paths will take us to sa Duaia d’Abaix. From there we will begin a long ascent, and then descend to the village of Artà. When we reach Es Verger we will pass by its houses and enjoy a spectacular and fun descent. The mountain road will lead us to the beach of Es Matzoc and its emblematic tower. After an inevitable climb with the bike on our backs, we will continue towards Cala Mitjana and Cala Torta. After negotiating several trialeras, we will reach Cala Mesquida, where we will cross the footbridge towards Cala Rajada.
This route offers all the necessary ingredients to enjoy nature. Once you have completed it, you will see that it was well worth the effort. From the area of Son Jaumell we will use rural and asphalt roads towards Capdepera, and passing through Son Febrer and Na Maians we will reach Artà. Cross the village in the direction of the Betlem hermitage and, on the way up, a detour to the right will lead us to Verger, passing by its houses and a spectacular and very enjoyable descent. We continue along the mountain and coastal path, reaching the Torre des Matzoc, and cross the beach. Inevitably we will have to climb a stretch with the bike on our backs, in order to continue towards Cala Mitjana and Cala Torta. We will reach Cala Mesquida via a trial path, where we will cross the beach over the wooden bridge.
This complicated route starts in Canyamel and requires experience in MTB, as we will find trialeras, descents and steep climbs. Crossing the stream, we follow the road along a parallel path until we reach the golf course, from where we head towards Puig de Meletes. We will go through Cala Provençals and Font de sa Cala to take a detour to the Punta na Baixa viewpoint, a place that offers stupendous panoramic views. We leave it to start the ascent along Carrer de s’Arboçera, a climb that becomes increasingly difficult, with steep slopes, especially at the end. We continue on to reach a narrow descent that runs between pines and holm oaks, but is great fun. We return to our route along secondary and asphalt roads, passing through the area of Na Maians and on our way back to Canyamel we reach the beach.
The best MTB descent on the island: an interminable descent, only suitable for experienced bikers, which rewards the effort with impressive views of the north coast of Mallorca and access to some dreamlike natural landscapes, where, skirting the coastline, we reach a succession of hidden coves and unspoilt beaches. This complicated route will take us to Capdepera and Artà by road and secondary roads. We will head towards the Betlem hermitage, and at a detour we will begin a continuous ascent, and then alternate ascents and descents until we reach s’Esquena Llarga, where the spectacular descent begins. Be careful! There may be a technical step that can make you get off your bike.
