One of the major spring highlights has been, as every year, the Media Maratón de Capdepera, which once again brought together runners from all over the island and beyond. With a spectacular route that combines urban stretches, rural roads, and sea views, this event has become an essential appointment for running enthusiasts.
The tennis and paddle courts have been in full activity throughout the winter. Local tournaments, training sessions, and informal games have brought life to the sports facilities, attracting both residents and visitors who take advantage of the tranquility of these months.
From March 27 to 31, the 2024 East Mallorca Cup brought together more than 2,000 young footballers from 17 countries for an international youth football tournament. The U-11, U-13, and U-15 categories played their matches on fields in localities such as Cala Millor, Son Servera, Artà, Capdepera, Sant Llorenç, and Portocristo. Renowned teams such as Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Villarreal CF claimed titles in their respective categories, highlighting the high level of competition at the event.
The Hotel Na Taconera, located in Font de Sa Cala, has become a reference space for beach soccer in Capdepera, even during the winter months. Its perfectly conditioned natural sand tracks allow training and competing in a privileged environment, surrounded by nature and with the sea nearby.
Playing tennis in Capdepera is a way to stay active while enjoying the natural surroundings and the tranquility that winter offers in this area of Mallorca. Far from the summer bustle, the courts remain lively during the cooler months, hosting training sessions, classes, and informal matches for both residents and visitors.
Additionally, during these winter months, Capdepera becomes the epicenter of European hiking with the celebration of the Mallorca Walking Event. This non-competitive event brings together hundreds of walkers from all over Europe to explore the most beautiful routes in the northeast of Mallorca.
For four days, participants traverse routes of 15 or 25 km that cross through stunning landscapes, from cliffs and pristine beaches to the Natural Park of the Llevant Peninsula. The event stands out for its festive and relaxed atmosphere, with refreshment points, stretching activities, and a closing party with music and local cuisine. Additionally, it offers a unique opportunity to discover the rich history and culture of Capdepera, including the iconic Castell de Capdepera.
And after a day filled with activity, Capdepera invites you to discover its most savory and authentic side. Local cuisine offers comforting dishes made with seasonal products, perfect for replenishing energy in a cozy atmosphere. During the winter, the municipality also keeps its cultural agenda alive with fairs, markets, concerts, and traditional festivals that allow visitors to connect with the roots and hospitality of the local people. Because in Capdepera, winter is not only experienced outdoors… it is also savored, celebrated, and shared.
