Walk up to the lighthouse of Capdepera. It is one of the most emblematic lighthouses on Mallorca. It stands majestic in a spectacular natural landscape with wonderful views of steep cliffs and, on a clear day, views across to the island of Menorca.
The lighthouse was built at the most easterly point of Mallorca, where according to the historians in 1231 King James I, “The Conqueror”, waited for the return of the emissaries he had sent to Menorca to demand that the Moors surrender the island. This lighthouse was taken into service in 1861. It consists of the round lighthouse tower and several buildings adjacent to it. The views over the Mediterranean give you the impression that you are at the very end of the world.
