Sunset walk
Breathing in the scent of pine while the your footsteps make rhythm with your heartbeat is one of the pleasurable sensations of a walk in Capdepera. You”ll be able to enjoy the beautiful turquoise of the Mediterranean Sea behind every cliff!
One of the advantages of the destination is that there are plenty of trails suitable for athletes who love difficulty or for those families or couples who just want to enjoy the landscape while walking. For the second group, we recommend the route that leads from Cala Gat to the Capdepera lighthouse. A short walk of a kilometre and a half in which you can follow the Sa Cova beach and watch the waves break between the cliffs or the peaceful coves that invite you to take a dip in the sea.
After passing some farms you will see the signpost that announces “AL FAR”, enter the winding, uphill path that makes you breathe a little faster. Relax, it’s only a few metres! And after the last bend you will be rewarded… The Capdepera lighthouse, standing proudly on the edge of the mountain.
The best time to do this excursion is just before sunset, because once at the lighthouse the sun begins to set between the mountains, painting the sky pink and shading the beaches and houses of Capdepera. If you go on a clear day you are sure to see Menorca from the lighthouse, what a great sight!
