Font De Sa Cala – Es Claper Des Gegants
This route connects Font de sa Cala and the Claper des Gegants, winding over the hills and with a chance to observe indigenous flora and fauna. From Font de sa Cala the route begins at the beach, heading first towards Capdepera on the main road. After about 100 metres level with the road Sa Gatova (Avenida de las Palmeras) we turn left and follow earthen tracks.
These lead us to an open gateway and to a path that skirts the golf course in some places and takes us to the Claper des Gegants or Talaiot de s’Heretat, a prehistoric site located on the flank of the hill called Puig de sa Tortuga, on the Canyamel valley side. The route is short and easy, an ideal outing for the family with the chance to view this ancient settlement dated about 2000 B.C.
