Every July, the port of Cala Ratjada is transformed into a stage full of tradition, music and joy. The Fiestas del Carmen in honour of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors, is much more than a religious festival: it is a living example of the joyful, welcoming and deeply-rooted character of our town. Two weeks with an agenda full of tradition, popular culture and fun.
Here we leave you a small summary of what these 2025 festivities have been like.
Serenates d’estiu
One of the most intimate and emotional events. In the gardens of the Casa March, music envelops the nights of Cala Ratjada with a magical atmosphere.

Ball de bot
Ball de Bot by the Agrupació Castell de Capdepera, which has been keeping the tradition alive since 1977. With traditional costumes and dances full of history, the group offered a show full of elegance and cultural roots.
After the exhibition, it was the turn of the dance open to the public, animated by the ‘Sonadors de jotes i Mateixes’ of Capdepera and the young ‘Sonadors’, who filled the square with live music and enthusiasm.

Passacarrers
A Friday starring the Capdepera Music Band, the Bugle and Drum Band and the endearing Capdepera Giants, who toured the streets, filling them with rhythm and tradition.

Día del Carme
From the morning, the boats in the port were dressed in festive attire, decorated with care and creativity to participate in the Boat Decoration Contest, giving a touch of colour and joy to our port.
In the afternoon, the Virgen del Carmen went out in procession from the church, accompanied by the music band and followed by numerous neighbours and visitors. This was followed by the always emotional Maritime Procession, with a floral offering in memory of the deceased fishermen.
The day ended in style with a spectacular fireworks display from the quay, and the end-of-festival concert by the group SEDAÇ.
