This small but quite charming sandy beach is located on the south-east edge of town. It is about 50m long and 15m wide. Cala Gat is a favourite spot for yachts and motor boats that come to anchor in the waters of the bay because it is well protected against the prevailing north wind. The beach is in a quiet, friendly little bay below the well-known palace of the March Foundation, renowned for its park-like gardens where every year open-air concerts of classical music are held, referred to as the “Summer Serenades”.
Cala Gat is located halfway along the pretty seaside track that joins the fishing harbour of Cala Ratjada with the lighthouse of Capdepera, the most easterly lighthouse on Mallorca. There is a snack bar. Access to the beach and parking are slightly complicated.
